Welcome to Holy Family

Welcome to Holy Family Parish! We are a vibrant parish rooted in the Gospel and the Catholic Church. We welcome the young and not so young to come to worship the Lord with us. From our ChristLife evangelization program to our youth group, we offer a number of programs and ministries for our parishioners and guests. We look forward to meeting you!

Sad News

We have some sad news to share with the Parish.  We have lost our two helper priests permanently.

Fr. Eddie Colohan, a holy man possessed of a beautiful priestly spirit, was found dead in his condo in Monroe last week.  His funeral is scheduled for next Friday, March 22nd, 2019 at St. Stephen's Church.  We are deeply saddened by the loss of this good priest and good friend.

Fr. Steve Gleeson, who has consistently helped us out at various morning Masses on Sunday mornings, has, for health reasons, now permanently retired.  Fr. Gleeson is presently recovering and undergoing Physical Therapy at one of the local convalescent homes.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Fr. Eddie and Sr. Steve were the only priests in the entire Diocese available to help us on a regular basis.   They cannot be replaced, because there is no one to replace them.  Just about all the other retired priests are presently so stretched saying Masses at other parishes, most of which are now one-priest parishes like Holy Family with a Mass schedule originally created for two priests, that none could commit to helping us on a regular basis.  The irreplaceability of these two good priests who have been helping us will force a realignment of the weekend Mass schedule.  More details to follow over the next several months.  Look here on this web site for updates.

In the past several months, we have lost Monsignor Sanders, Monsignor Driscoll, Msgr. Esposito, Fr. Sangiovanni, and Fr. Colohan.  Please pray for the repose of their souls, and please pray for an increase in vocations.

More Sad News...

I am sorry to inform you that our Administrative Assistant, Viki Heady, lost her husband suddenly last Thursday.  His wake will be this coming Sunday at Abriola in Trumbull, with a funeral Mass at Assumption-Fairfield on Monday.  Please keep Andy and Viki and the family in your prayers.

Special Stations

STATIONS OF THE CROSS UPDATE

This year, we will NOT gather for Stations of the Cross on Friday nights as we have traditionally done in years past.  Instead, we have made a special arrangement with Sacred Beauty to celebrate the Via Dolorosa in a new and unique way.

We will gather instead on SUNDAY AFTERNOONS IN LENT at 2:30PM, for a guided meditation based on two or three of the Stations, completing all 14 by the last week of Lent in a relaxed, beautiful, meditative and uplifting atmosphere.  We will meditate on two or three stations per week, and go deep into the mystery of Jesus' sacrifice for us using spiritual writings of the great saints, and will honor Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament with Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction.

Beautiful Sacred Music, too.

We expect each gathering to last approximately one hour, and coffee and light treats will be provided immediately after.  Try to attend them all if you can for the most enriching spiritual experience!

Come, Join Us On Sunday Afternoons In Lent at 2PM!
